What has been your experience in dealing with venture capitalists? It seems like there's not a lot of activity in the DMV?

I would describe my experience w/ VCs accordingly: some good, some bad, mostly just OK. It really depends on your business, stage, relationships, etc. And +90% of businesses are not really suitable for venture financing, not becase they are not good businesses just that the entrepreur should seek more typical financing sources to start-out; friends, family, bank and/or customers (however novel). The DMV activity is a bit of a mirage, many of the deals are very early stage and really in a closed knit community, unless you are in area where there is huge demand (and you are quite seasoned).
